Histopathological Changes in Pancreas due to Burn Injuries

Dr. Shuvro Bhattacharya co-authored a significant research paper titled “Histopathological changes in pancreas in cases of death due to burn injuries – A pilot study on postmortem histopathology”, published in the Journal of Indian Academy of Forensic Medicine (JIAFM), January-March 2021 edition. This study explores the microscopic changes in pancreatic tissues observed during postmortem examinations of burn victims. The research provides valuable forensic insights into burn-related deaths, contributing to improved medico-legal investigations and academic understanding.

Seven Factors Affecting Medical Undergraduate Students’ Performance in Academics: A Study Using Ron Fry Questionnaire in Eastern India

A prospective, cross-sectional study conducted in a government medical college in Eastern India using the validated Ron Fry questionnaire to identify key academic performance gaps among third-semester undergraduates (n=196). Major deficiencies were found in comprehension (97.9%), followed by organizational skills and learning aptitude. Test anxiety, note-taking, and concentration emerged as significant performance determinants, with notable gender and honours-status differences (p < 0.05). The findings aim to inform targeted strategies for implementing Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) within the AETCOM framework in India.
